Building Resilient Cities
Cities worldwide face incredible challenges and opportunities due to demographic shifts, resource depletion, climate change, and economic volatility. To respond effectively, cities need to be even more adaptable, efficient, sustainable, and connected - to become ‘smarter’ and more resilient. We help facilitate that change.
World Cities Network is delighted to be invited to join this RIBA organised event: Designing City Resilience 2015 on 16-17 June 2015 in London. With a focus on four real world city scenarios, the worlds greatest design and development minds will gather to consider who best to build resilient cities and communities.
World Cities Network partnered with BRE for their Cities Convention on 22-23 April 2015 at Altitude London. The day was spent considering how cities could be smarter, more sustainable and resilient. Lessons from early adopters of smart city solutions were discussed and questions considered included how do cities ensure growth brings social, environmental and economic benefits for all?
City leaders and urban experts gathered during MIPIM to discuss how multiple initiatives can together future-proof cities. Real estate & infrastructure plans from several leading cities were shared and approaches debated. Surprisingly, citizen power featured strongly.
