Director - Atkins
Elspeth Finch is a director of Atkins, one of the world’s leading engineering and design consultancies with 17,500 employees. Elspeth leads the Futures team, analysing the long term environmental and social changes and their likely impact on infrastructure. The objective is to develop new skills and services to support the resilience of business to withstand complex change. Her role involves leading on our future cities work, looking at smart cities as well as supporting our work on environmental resilience highlighted in our Future Proofing Cities report launched late last year.
Prior to joining Atkins, Elspeth founded specialist consultancy Intelligent Space Partnership in 2000, aged 24, which she sold to Atkins in 2007. Rooted in evidence, Elspeth and her team adopted a fresh approach to traditional challenges in transport planning, incorporating the needs of pedestrians and cyclists in city design. Elspeth’s award winning approach has been recognised through becoming the Entrepreneurial Woman of the Future and her inclusion on Management Today’s list of top businesswomen to watch under 35.
