Philip Dilley


Philip Dilley is Chairman of the Arup Group, a trust-owned firm that employs more than 10,000 consulting engineers, designers, planners and consultants. Philip joined Arup as a graduate engineer and quickly built up extensive international business experience, particularly in Asia and Europe. Now based in London, he remains a strong promoter of design creativity, technical innovation and quality.

In addition to his role as Arup Chairman, Philip is a Governor of the Infrastructure and Urban Development Community at the World Economic Forum and works as a member of the UK Prime Minister’s Business Advisory Group. He is also Chairman of London First, a business membership organisation, and recently returned to his alma mater, Imperial College, as a member of the governing Council. Philip sits on the Professional and Business Services Advisory Group reporting to BIS (Dept for Business, Innovation and Skills) and in 2012 was elected Honorary Fellow of RIBA (Royal Institute of British Architects).
