Richard Gammon from HOK on London's airport dilemma

Written by Elena Collins on 29 November 2012

Richard Gammon, Senior Vice President, Director of Aviation & Transportation at HOK, talks to World Cities Network about the case for Heathrow's expansion.

“Heathrow is one of London's most important pieces of infrastructure, it’s a global international hub, one of the main drivers of the economy of London and the UK as a whole” explains Richard to World Cities Network when asked how important is the debate on London airports to the resilience of London and the UK.

As other European airports such as Schiphol, Charles de Gaulle, Stockholm are evolving themselves as the UK airport of choice and the number of destinations from Heathrow is in decline everyday, the discussion on whether Heathrow should expand or a new airport is needed in London is a debate that needs to unfold.

World Cities Network, in partnership with WAN, will be hosting a high level debate regarding the location of London's next airport. The event will take place at The Royal Geographical Society, London, Tuesday 05 February 2013. Click here to find out more
